Recently, one of the online gambling industry’s major operators, Bodog, launched in Brazil, and as part of its expansion project in the vast South American country has now agreed a sponsorship deal with Brazil’s biggest poker venue, the H2 Poker Club in São Paulo. As a result, Bodog will now have its own dedicated lounge based within the H2 Poker Club where poker players will be able to go and enjoy an authentic Bodog experience.
Brazil is currently working towards updating its archaic gambling laws that have been in place for around seven decades in order to better accommodate live and internet gambling. Bodog’s latest move is therefore seen as part of the brand’s efforts to compliment its media campaign with a physical presence in the country.
Commenting on the strategic partnership, Bodog PR Director Ed Pownall said that the Bodog lounge at the venue will allow the brand to better connect with its Brazilian customers, and that over the coming summer a number of fun tournaments will be organized, complete with all the trimmings the brand is famous for, including “models, celebrities, drinks and, of course, a party.”
Luana Bran, marketing coordinator for H2 Club, seemed equally excited about all the benefits the new sponsorship arrangement may bring, stating:
“We are excited to have a global brand like Bodog sponsoring the club. We are proud to welcome poker players from all over Brazil and we are very confident that this partnership will help both parties grow in the region and cement our reputation as the best in our areas.”
According to industry experts, Brazil, a country of 208 million people, has the potential to become one of the world’s biggest regulated gambling market. Bodog is currently positioning itself to take advantage of such an important potential market, as well as others in the region, and in February 2017 announced that its services would soon be available in 16 countries throughout Central and South America, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela.
